TIPTON’S HISTORY IN PHOTOS AND OTHER IMAGES

The development of the Timeline started in 2022 as part of the plans to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, recording some events of her life during 70 years on the throne of the United Kingdom, and the events in Tipton St John and Venn Ottery during the same time span.

Many photographs of local events since 1952 were collected together, resulting in a display featuring the events of Her Majesty’s reign, events in Tipton St John and Venn Ottery, and with the context of UK national events and those worldwide.

We are now expanding the time frame back further into the past, and in due course on into the future. If you have some old photos, slides, documents etc. that you think would be of interest to other local people we should be very grateful to receive these, to be added to the appropriate year with a description. Any old photos or printed documents can be scanned and will be returned to you unharmed.
